How can I extend a lease agreement?

Extending a lease on Flatio couldn't be easier! Below, you can learn how you can easily do it through your profile in the My Rentals web app.

If you and your tenant want them to stay longer than you initially agreed, you can easily extend the lease agreement directly from the My Rentals web app.

  1. Visit the Tenants section of My Rentals and open the specific tenant’s details.
  2. In the menu under their name, select the Agreements tab. You will see an overview of the contracts you have with this tenant.
  3. Click the "Detail" button for the lease agreement you wish to extend.
  4. Click the "Prolong agreement" button.
  5. In the following form:
    • fill in the date when the lease should newly end, and
    • set up what pricing system should be applied to the extended period.
      • If you select the "Apply original price settings from the date this reservation was created" option, the additional payments will be calculated according to your price settings from when the tenant created the reservation.
      • The "Apply current price settings" option will set up the new rental payments according to your current price settings.
      • Under the "Set a new custom price" option, you can set up a new basic rate specifically for this extended period. If you choose this, no advanced price settings will be applied to the extended period, as the payments will be based on only this one price.
  6. Click the "Save" button.

After you save the changes, an amendment to your lease will be automatically generated, and the tenant will need to sign it so it becomes officially valid. Once the tenant signs the amendment, our system will send you an email so you’re notified of the amendment’s validity.
