Hi, I'm Paulo and I'm a Portuguese working in abroad. Would love to welcome you in my flat, which I myself also use whenever I'm home :)

Every time you rent through Flatio, you're automatically covered by our StayProtection package.
By booking this property, you'll also enjoy extended protection in the form of Stay Benefits - a unique offering backed by AXA! Here's what such packaging includes:
Once you send a booking request, the host is notified that you are interested in their listing. From that moment, they have 24 hours to approve or reject your booking.
Hosts are mainly interested in the profile of their guest. Do not forget to fill in all necessary information, add your profile picture, or even make a short video about yourself. Doing that will make you more attractive for the owner and your booking will more likely get approved.
You can take a look at the contract in advance and online with every listing. After you sign it, you will find it in the application My Housing.
While arranging a contract on Flatio, you do not have to worry that it could be disadvantageous for you. Our contracts are made so that we avoid all problems! All of them are the same, used by all the hosts on Flatio.
Your time is precious. That's why we've added a virtual tour option to our platform so you can see some of the rentals listed on Flatio from the comfort of your own home.
If a virtual tour isn't available for the accommodation you've chosen, you can contact the host and ask them if they're willing to give you a personal tour of the rental unit.
In the event that you move in and the rented accommodation doesn't match the information on Flatio, let us know as soon as possible!
If the conditions for the withdrawal are met and the host can't fix the issue immediately, you have the option to withdraw from the lease agreement with a full refund. We'll also actively help you find an alternative accommodation and remain by your side until everything is fully resolved.
You can read the conditions and all details about our Move-in Guarantee in this article of our Help Center.
How you can cancel a booking varies depending on what stage the booking is in.
Is your booking request still waiting for host approval? Then you can simply cancel it directly from your My Housing web app!
However, suppose the owner has already approved your booking request, and you are no longer interested in it. In that case, you can still cancel the booking before you sign the lease agreement. Just consider that you should do this only in essential cases. Because when the host accepts your booking, the property is stopped being advertised, and they can lose the chance to rent their property to someone else.
Do you have an approved booking and also a valid agreement? In order to cancel your booking, contact Flatio customer support well in advance of your contract beginning (the specific time and amount of refund depends on the type of cancelation policy).
Reviews
This has been the worst stay ever. Firstly, the apt is super noisy. Its very near the main train station (Campanha) and the bedroom is right above the main road which means you hear all the traffic super loudly in the flat, so much that you cant even open the windows as you cant hear anything, let alone sleep properly. Secondly, there is barely any storage in the flat, the landlord left one set of towels for my 18 nights stay, half a toilet roll, and one bedding. This would be ok if there was a washing machine in the flat, but when i asked for the second set he told me to go and use the laundrymat nearby, which I refused so only then he sent his cousing to bring extra bedsheets and towels. Then, the building key was dodgy and didnt work properly which put me in a very uncomfrortable situation right before my meeting that i couldnt enter the building. After that he gave me a code for the building so the whole thing could have been prevented. Then came the electricity problems, one whole day i had continuous cuts both water and electricity, which was the building wide fault. Again massive inconvenience for me and my work. For that he originally agreed to pay a refund of 15% which then he decided to condition if only if i pay 30 eur for a small carpet damage that accidentally happened during my stay. I agreed to pay this but the 15% he stilll hasnt paid back and is continuing to be problematic about it. I never had such bad experience with any landlord so far.
HOST'S REPLY:
I agree with the guest on one thing: this was the worst hosting experience I have had.
She forgot to mention that the missing second set of towels and extra toilet paper were brought to her door the same evening. Bed linen is not even a Flatio requirement but she received a second set anyway, as a courtesy.
She also forgot to mention that the building key worked for everyone else. I have never had to give the entrance code to any other guest. When she reported the problem, I sent her the code within the hour, and it could have been faster had she called the phone number I gave her, which she never used.
The electricity and water interruptions were a street-wide failure by the distribution operator, affecting neighbouring buildings as well, not a fault in the apartment. She also wrote to me at the time, "I know it's not under your control." While the outages were ongoing, I offered her cancellation with no penalty plus a further 15% rent reduction as courtesy. She stayed until the end. The current guests have been in the apartment for a month and have had no electricity issues. In their own words, "we're having a great time. We're delighted with Porto and the apartment."
She also forgot to mention the state she left the apartment in: extremely dirty, with the rubbish not taken out and open food left in the fridge. The carpet was covered in a sticky substance, which she described as children's slime, and had to be sent for professional cleaning.
On the refund: the 15% reduction and the €30 carpet cleaning fee were set out together in a lease amendment. She accepted, with Flatio's confirmation, that the fee would be deducted from the refund. She forgot to mention that before writing this review, she messaged me that she was "prepared to not be fully transparent" about her stay if I paid her. She wrote this review before signing the amendment, signed it two days later, and I transferred the balance the next day.

the landlord advertises it as bonfim, but this is the edge of bonfim, which is more campanha than bonfim and it has some dodgy people coming up from the train station.

Communication was good! There weren't any problems so didn't need much to be addressed!

All good! Really enjoyed my time here. Being so close to the rail station was awesome for going places outside the city. There are cafes, bars and restaurants in short walking distance. Even a supermarket within 10 minutes!

Communication with Paulo was excellent! He was very responsive and helpful with everything that was needed.
The apartment is small and very nice.
The location is very comfortable being close to campanha train station where you can take the bus, train, metro to basically anywhere in Portugal.
Being located on a main street it can get very noisy and loud but there are dubble glazed windows to help block that noise.
If you are someone who needs a very quiet enviroment for work purposes or in general maybe the location of this apartment won't suit you, however, if your looking for a place in a nice building, in very good conditions and close to everything you'll need and want (public transportation, supermarket, cafe's, restaurant, short driving distance to anywhere in the city, walking distance to city center) this place will be a very good choice for you.
